The main features of these innovative Systems - that can operate 24 hours a day - are:

The robot and the storage unit are fully integrated
The storage unit ensures a dust-free, corrosion-inhibiting environment for the tooling
Patented grippers can handle spacers from 1mm thick, keep tooling de-magnetized; leave knives and spacers with a space between in the storage unit, to avoid corrosion. If more than a single piece of tooling is picked up, the grippers automatically separate the pieces
A flexible control system has been developed around standard components: an industrial PC (with Windows XP) + Bosch-Rexroth PLC. The PLC 'independently' controls: servo drives, safety equipment, the identification system (checking on correct positioning of the knife-sides and spacers), grippers, valves, sensors...
The software (with two separate modules: "main program" and "set-up calculation) is user-friendly and can get customized on demand. [The System operator can, in particular be given the option to 'manually' control selected parts of the process]
The available options:
"Intermediate" station, allowing shorter setup time (RECOMMENDABLE OPTION!)
Dual-grippers option, for an even shorter cycle-time
Washing machine for the tooling; and a "dedicated" robot to this machine
Knife sharpness & condition auto.- check station (allowing 'good'/undamaged edges only to be used, whilst knives requiring full re-grinding
and/or any repairs are moved to the service station)
Tooling auto.- blow off station
Filtered & Dried Air Supply Unit to optimize the storage-environment ^
Separator disc program, for a correct positioning of separators
Modem for remote-assistance via Internet
