- Heavy Duty Heavy Gauge Lines
Two "typical" Heavy Duty Coil Slitting Line Models that we build: suitable for processing up to 12.7mm and, resp. 15mm thick material (carbon steel).
The maximum speed is 150m / min and, resp. 100m / min for these lines. See Speed, etc. Charts in the "PHOTOS & IMAGES" space on the right.
A "15mm" is currently been manufactured, having 35 t stock reels.
For material thicknesses up to 16 mm our Heavy Gauge Slitting Lines are affordable, skilfully-engineered, very robust equipment built to really "work hard" and... last.
Major Steel Groups have them at their works.
Once known for, specially Mid/Light Gauge Slitting Lines we are now suppliers of also heavy duty, Heavy Gauge Slitting Lines like these.
For the moment we can build slitting lines to process material thicknesses up to 16mm [.63"], material widths up to 2100mm [82.5"] with coil weights up to 40 Tonne.

1) COIL STORAGE RAMP
The Entry Coil Ramp is 2-Station, for two coils -- each max. 32 t with 800-2000mm OD
2) COIL LOADING CAR
The Coil Loading Car (4-column + hydraulic cylinder), with a 32 t capacity, has a ca. 10m horizontal stroke. Its translation speed is ca. 10-12m / min.
3) MOBILE, DOUBLE OPPOSED CONE TYPE DECOILER
with DC motors for the rotation and braking
4) STRAIGHTENER & GANTRY FRAME
The Straightener has 2 pinch rolls and 5 work rolls, moved by jacks; AC geared motor; roll dia.: 190mm. Deflector roll, dia. 200mm.
Universal joints, centralized lubrication.
Centering:
By coil edge guiding photo-cells.
5) HYDRAULIC CROP SHEAR
^ Butt-shearing the coil leading edge, with scrap max. length: 400mm
6) MATERIAL THREADING STATION WITH SCRAP EVACUATION TABLE AND TWO MOBILE 'KILLING' ROLLS
It is hydraulically operated; the diameter of the 'killing' rolls is 160mm.
7) SLITTER HEAD WITH TOOLING-EXCHANGE TURNSTILE
Of allsteel construction; the operator-side slitter stand is mobile on guides, with special high precision bearings. The adjustment of the knives-penetration (visualized) is by eccentrics, with gears and connection bars; hydraulic motor.
Automatic tool changer, turnstile type.
8) BURR PLANISHER
with hydraulic entry table
With 180mm rolls, hardness: 60 (+/-) HRC. The lower roll is DC-motor driven; the up-downstroking upper roll is mounted on guides and moved by hydraulic cylinders.
9) SCRAP CHOPPER
With static basement, mandrel diameter 350mm, 4 blades. Min./max. scrap side width: 20/35mm
DC-motor drive of mandrels.
AC geared motor for the blade inter-space.
The scraps fall, through conveyors on a rotary belt: bringing them to a scrap collection box, placed near the line.
10) SADDLE (ENTRY-) with steel rolls, to overtake the loop pit during during the introduction of strips

"Typical" Heavy Gauge Slitting Line Models of our design are presented here:
- a 150m / min, 2000mm x 12.7mm Slitting Line with 32 t decoiler and recoiler;
- and a 100m / min, 2000mm x 15mm Slitting Line with 35 t decoiler and recoiler.
Different configurations are possible for the lines, however those summarily described hereinafter are rather common.
Both injection slitter heads and tooling transfer units can be proposed as quick changeover solutions; generally, no demand for robotic tooling set-up systems with these line "sizes".
Slit coil packaging systems are not commonly requested, either.
